Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
Posted on October 12th, 2008 in Science Fiction, Young Adult |
Ender is a young genius, one of three similar siblings. There is a war raging and the military needs geniuses like Ender. Even though Ender is only a child, the military recruits him and sends him to Battle School. Battle School is a school orbiting the Earth designed to train children for battle. After completing all of the school’s tests and training, Ender is transferred to a strange outpost planet where he believes he’s playing simple computer games. In reality, he’s actually commanding fleets of warships. He defeats the enemy, but he doesn’t feel like the hero everyone says he is.
This book is one of the best I’ve ever read. It was well written, intriguing, and kept me interested in the charaters and the plot. The book changed my opinion about sci-fi, and now I’m reading more books in the sci-fi genre.
Genre: Science fiction Rating: 5-Cactus Fantastic
I recommend this book not only to sci-fi readers, but to readers who like futuristic adventure stories as well because its got something in it for everyone.

I read this book quite a few years ago and also got hooked on the series. What I liked about this book in particular were the battles at the end and how the enemy’s fighting strategy was compared to that of bees or ants. Made me start paying attention to bugs and how they behave.
